The war of being the most "outstanding/successful" one continues to expand as the number of "photographer/creator" increases. Question is, are you doing it for the Fame?
To answer this complicated question, you might want to set your own definition of success. As the saying goes, if you don't define your own success, others will do it for you. To me, success is a process of growth, where you grow to be a better person than yesterday and also bringing others to grow with you.
Let me elaborate, fame might seems like an instant reward to measure success in this industry. However, it pretty much always dies off as soon as it come due to its trendy nature. Human tend to always look for fresh and new things therefore jumping into the bandwagon will definitely bring you almost instant success but not sustainability.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with chasing fame. After all fame is what most people "perceive" as "success". Instead of focusing your energy on something temporary, try doing it for your passion. Only through undying passion, you persist through failures and grow from it. Your effort will pay off in long term as nothing successful comes easy.
Ask yourself again, are you doing it for fame? The answer will determine your journey in this field.
