For the usual readers, this is will probably look like an unusual update, but bear with me as I wanted to write something to share my excitement and also a rather interesting product capability.
It has been a while since my last active update as I was caught between back to back shooting schedule. Honestly, it is not a bad thing at all. In fact, it was what I hoped for since I started going full time. Other than having a rather full schedule on the photo-work side of things, my writing side of things over at Fstoppers has also gotten a lot of attention with more brands that are willing to work with me for in depth reviews. Besides crossing the 100th article mark, one of the brand that I have always wanted to work with called Thypoch (a reputable Leica M-mount lens manufacturer) have also successfully come on board for the review of their Ksana series lenses (Ksana 21mm & Ksana 35mm). Thanks Mei!
Above all, the highlight of this month was probably getting invited to the Huawei's Flagship Product Launch 2026 event held in Kuala Lumpur on 14 July 2026. I was extremely thankful for the opportunity as I got to finally meet those people from Huawei & MSL team that are behind all the emails exchanges. Alongside, there were also press members from Bulgaria, the United States and some KOL from Malaysia and Singapore whom were all very nice people to be with, exchange ideas and experiences. Although it is still jarring to sit in a room full of people, having met these group of nice people definitely did help to ease the process for an introvert like me. On top of that, I also got to see Andreas Zimmer (Head of Product from Huawei) in real life introducing Huawei's latest Pura 90s series smartphones, and Huawei also invited 2 really talented photographers Goran Jovic and Nicoline Patricia Malina (really lover her work) to showcase their awesome work on stage.
From the press trip, I also got the exclusive privilege for first hand experience on the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max ahead of its official launch. For those who are interested on my full thoughts, click here to read my full review over at the Fstoppers site.

In short, other than being a mouthful of words to pronounce and a slight specs downgrade, it is still a powerful phone to be used for photography, very enjoyable shooting experience. Though I wish they were made with more intention to cater towards photographic usage. Below are some of the images that I have shot with the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max. I yield close to 600 images with it in a matter of 2 days which I think you can tell by the variety of images in the small collection below.
Note that all of the image below including the header image are straight out of the camera and zero editing was done to all the images.
Onwards to clearing my backlogs and will share more exciting updates on my recent works soon (waiting for clearance before I can post about that project), until then stay tuned and as usual, all images in this article are available for licensing and print request.
