I’ve decided to bring back my “what a morning” photoessay—a simple practice of capturing fragments from a morning walk. From an uncle glued to his phone to an old car fading into a textured wall, from trees overtaking rooftops to aunties locked in timeless conversations, each frame reveals quiet truths. A morning walk is never just exercise—it’s a reminder to notice the small, ironic, and poetic details around us.

The Fort Cornwallis restoration is bringing new life to one of Penang’s most iconic landmarks. Through my photo essay, I capture the careful heritage work being done on the fort’s walls, gates, and historic spaces. It’s inspiring to witness how conservation can preserve not just architecture but also the stories and culture behind it. I can’t wait to see Fort Cornwallis fully restored and reopened, a heritage site where both locals and visitors can reconnect with history.
